Directions For Use

Whey Protein Smoothie Tips
The perfect smoothie is all a matter of your personal taste and consistency preferences. Experiment with different ingredients and amounts to find your new favorite. If you're having trouble getting your smoothie just right, try out some of the tips below:

  • To boost the vanilla flavor when using vanilla protein powder, try adding ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract. You can also turn vanilla protein powder into chocolate flavor by adding cocoa powder.
  • To increase the chocolate flavor of chocolate protein powder, try adding a teaspoon of cocoa powder to your mixture
  • To thicken a smoothie, add a few more ice cubes or pieces of frozen fruit
  • To make a smoothie less thick, add more liquid or reduce the amount of ice or frozen fruit used
  • To make a smoothie creamier, add a tablespoon of powdered milk. You can also try adding in some yogurt or milk with a higher fat content
  • To make a foamy smoothie, blend for a longer amount of time to whip in more air
  • To make a sweeter smoothie, try adding a small piece of banana or a pitted date. The natural fruit sugars help to sweeten things up!

No-Bake Peanut Butter Oatmeal Protein Bars

  • 2 cups dry oatmeal
  • 4 scoops Smooth Natural Vanilla OR Chocolate Whey Protein
  • ½ cup natural peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup water or milk

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, and then press into a 9x9 inch pan lined with wax paper. Freeze for 40 minutes and cut into bars.  Keep sealed in an airtight container or wrap up individually with plastic or waxed paper.

Fruit & Nut Protein Bars

  • 1 cup Smooth Natural Vanilla Whey Protein
  • 1 ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup wheat germ
  • ½ cup oat bran
  • ½ cup dried fruit of your choice (cranberries, raisins, apricots, etc.)
  • ½ cup nuts of your choice (peanuts, almonds, cashews, etc.)
  • 2 cups natural peanut butter
  • 1 cup honey

Directions:

In a large bowl mix oats, wheat germ, oat bran, protein powder, fruit, and nuts.

Either on the stove top on low heat or in the microwave, heat the peanut butter and honey. Add peanut butter mixture to dry ingredients just until fully combined.

Pat mixture firmly into a well greased 9x13 glass baking dish; let cool completely for 2-4 hours. Cut into bars and individually wrap in waxed paper or plastic wrap or store in air tight container.

No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Protein Bars

  • 5 tablespoons natural peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
  • ½ cup dry oatmeal or whole grain hot cereal (uncooked)
  • ½ cup oat flour (double the dry oats if you do not have oat flour)
  • 6 scoops Smooth Natural Chocolate Whey Protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons flax seeds (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered dry milk
  • ½ cup water (adjust as necessary to get the appropriate dough consistency)

Directions:
Spray an 8x8 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Combine dry ingredients in a medium size bowl and mix well. Add peanut butter and mix - the mixture will be crumbly and dry. Add water & vanilla.
Using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula, mix everything until a dough forms. The dough will be sticky. Spread dough into pan using a clean wooden spoon or spatula that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Refrigerate a few hours (or freeze for an hour) and cut into 9 squares. Wrap bars individually (use sandwich bags or plastic wrap) or store in covered container between sheets of wax paper. Keep refrigerated.
 

No-Bake Fruit & Oatmeal Protein Bars

  • 5 tablespoons natural peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
  • ½ cup dry oatmeal or whole grain hot cereal (uncooked)

  • ¼ cup nuts, seeds or dried fruits (berries, apricots, raisins, etc.)

  • 2 tablespoons flax seeds (optional)
  • 1 cup dry powdered milk
  • ½ cup water (adjust as necessary to get the appropriate dough consistency)

Protein Packed Chocolate Pudding

  • 1 packet instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 scoop Smooth Natural Chocolate Whey Protein
  • 3 cups milk

Directions:
Mix whey protein, milk and pudding packet in a large bowl or a blender. Pour into 2 medium-sized bowls and refrigerate for 8-10 minutes or until thick and creamy

Chocolate Protein Cookies

  • 6 egg whites
  • 1 ¾ cups dry oatmeal
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 4 scoops Smooth Natural Chocolate OR Vanilla Whey Protein
  • 2 dashes cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup raisins or other dried fruit of your choice (optional)

Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 325, bake for 20 minutes. Makes 1 dozen cookies.

No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Cookies

  • ½ cup butter or natural margarine
  • ½ cup milk
  • 5 tablespoons Smooth Natural Chocolate Whey Protein
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup natural peanut butter
  • 3 ½ cups quick oats
  • 2-3 tablespoons vanilla

Directions:
1. Melt butter or margarine in a saucepan and add milk, protein powder and sugar.
2. Bring to a boil for no more than a minute or until thick.
3. Remove from heat and add in the oats, peanut butter and vanilla.
4. Mix well.
5. If too crumbly add a touch of water, but this should not be needed.
6. Press into 12 cookies and set to cool on wax paper.
7. Enjoy!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie

  • 2 scoops Smooth Natural Chocolate Whey Protein (or Smooth Natural Vanilla Whey Protein + 1 tablespoon cocoa powder)
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
  • 8-12 ounces water (or milk)
  • 3-5 ice cubes

Optional Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon flax (helps to give a thicker consistency)
  • 2 tablespoons whipping cream (not canned spray cream)

Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Chocolate Coffee Smoothie

  • 2 scoops Smooth Natural Chocolate Whey Protein
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 5 ice cubes
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 spoonful of instant coffee

Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Chocolate Lover's Smoothie

  • 12 ounces water
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons low fat sour cream or plain yogurt
  • Sweetener of your choice to taste
  • 2 ounces Smooth Natural Chocolate Whey Protein
  • 2 teaspoons flax seed oil (or ground flax meal)

Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Vanilla Banana Honey Smoothie

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 big scoop Smooth Natural Vanilla Whey Protein
  • ¾ cup yogurt
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil (or ground flax meal)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Very Berry Smoothie

  • 2 scoops Smooth Natural Vanilla Whey Protein
  • 8 raspberries
  • 4 strawberries
  • 15 blueberries
  • 16 ounces milk
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Orange Vanilla Smoothie

  • 2 scoops Smooth Natural Vanilla Whey Protein
  • 8 ounces orange juice
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ banana
  • 2-3 frozen strawberries
  • Sweetener to taste

Directions:

Vanilla Oatmeal Protein Smoothie

  • 1 ½ cup water or skim milk
  • ¼ cup oatmeal
