Walk Your Way To Weight Loss and Good Health

Sure, you've been walking since you were a tiny tot. It comes naturally to you now, so you rarely give it much thought. Did you know, though, that walking is one of the best exercises out there? If you want to lose weight, walking can help you do it. If you want to be healthier and more energetic, walking can help you with that, too. Walking for 30 minutes or more a day at a moderate pace can help you shed those unwanted pounds.

And this simple exercise can improve your health and lower the risk of certain diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. You don't have to power walk to see positive results, but you DO need to walk faster than a snail's pace to crank up your metabolism and get those extra benefits. Make time to walk regularly-at least three times each week is recommended. As your endurance improves, try picking up the pace a little or walking a little longer. For a more challenging workout, walk up and down hills or stairs. The more you walk, the stronger and healthier you will feel. So, what are you waiting for? Start walking!
