Great machine

"I waited to write this review because When I was doing my research I noticed that the reviews were people had owned a machine for some time changed from raving to critical. Well I have had this machine for over a year now, I am 6'2" and 208 Lbs and I and my family use it about 3 to 4 times a week, and it is still a solid, silent, great piece of equipment. I would definitely buy it again and would recommend it to anyone.I researched a lot and went to stores to check out the gear. Then I read the reviews and found that all of the "up to $1,000" equipment was said to get loose after a while and the next jump was to $3,000 professional stuff The CE 7.4 seemed to hit the mid spot well. I was very skeptical of not being able to try one out because they are sold on line. Don't be worried. This machine is solid as a rock and stable. You can just walk up to it, step on and it comes to life and you start working out. After a year it is absolutely silent. What did it for me was the warranty. I am in manufacturing and know that if anything as warrantied for life it has to be strong as an ox. It is a good sized piece so don't expect to put it in a tiny bedroom but I live in a split and have this in a downstairs family room. It doesn't kill the room and looks good. The ceiling is only 86" and even with my height I have no head clearance issues. It comes with the tools that you need and everything fits together perfectly and all hardware goes right in. It is easy to assemble with a few major sections. The engineering was well done. The box is big but open it outside the front door and just carry the sections in. They are easy to handle. The flywheel section maybe could use a friend but that is all. This definitely a great choice if you want a nice looking, solid, silent machine that does what it is supposed to do."

Exceeding my fairly high expectations so far

"I did plenty of research before deciding which elliptical to go with. The elliptical is THE machine I've used regularly at the gym for several years now so I knew I would need a quality machine to be satisfied. The "big boy" brands like Precor were just more $ than I wanted to spend on a home machine. The under $1000 that I sampled in a few retail outlets were just too wobbly. Anyway after much research I took the dive on the CE 741 and so far I'm extremely pleased with the machine. It was quite easy to assemble (me alone in under 30 mins) It's very "smooth" There is hardly any wobble... With it on carpet and me reversing directions every few minutes! It's quiet, comfortable, and amazingly "commercial" feeling. At $1500 delivered to my door I'm feeling like it was well spent $. A bit more than costco (which I love) or sears models... But they just don't have the stability or features of this one (like the electromagnetic resistance) Although I've only had it for about a month I'm loving this machine!"

Very satisfied with our CE 7.4 Elliptical Trainer.

"Our CE 7.4 Elliptical Trainer has performed "as advertised" throughout the first four months of daily use. The initial delivery and assembly was fairly simple using the tools provided with the equipment. However, the DC converter power supply failed after only 30 seconds during the initial test. After contacting Customer Service, a new power supply was shipped and the equipment began performing up to our expectations. The LED computer display on the CE 7.4 is a bit retro looking, but it is easy to read and accepts user inputs without any difficulty. The three-speed fan is a nice feature, however there does not appear to be much (if any)RPM difference between the high, medium, and low fan settings. This equipment is extremely stable during use and the 21 inch stride feels ergonomically comfortable. The braking system operates very well and has a wide range of settings for customized workout programing. Over all the CE 7.4 seems to be an excellent value and a high quality, smooth, quiet, and dependable piece of exercise equipment. "
