I never thought of it that way but the word 'primitive' does have positive connotations like you say. I think if we do adopt a more 'primitive' way in our eating we would cut down on many ailments in our Society like heart disease and obesity. If you look at a lot of the various prehistoric animals you see many that ate raw fruits and vegetables. Not many were meat eaters like we are taught in school.
Interesting Post and something to think about

I´d like to add that there are of course saturated fats that should be avoided at any costs - namely Trans Fats and Interesterified Fats, both artificial fats. They still live in a lot of processed food products these days and should be avoided at any cost. If it says "hydrogenated" - stay away.

Jim,

thank you for this great article. Indeed, "primitive eating" is the way to go! My general scheme is: eat "food" and not "food products". The less food has been altered into a food product the better.

I just would like to add that even saturated fats are not bad by default. In fact our body need saturated fats as it needs unsaturated fats. Here is a great article http://www.marksdailyapple.com/saturated-fat-healthy/ that you´ll enjoy.

Sportive greetings,
Elmar
